Empowers parents with tools to be organized and in control

What I Do

What is a Parenting Coach?

I offer guidance and mentoring to parents and teachers providing tools to bridge the gap between what you “know” and what you “do.”  For example, “Why did I yell at my kids?  I know better!”

I help you choose the words and actions that allow you to be the parent you want to be now, regardless of your situation.  I help you weed through the myriad of parenting advice offered to you and determine which holds closest to your own values.

Who uses a Parenting Coach?

A variety of parents can benefit from a parenting coach.  Parents who are leading a life of quiet desperation use the guidance and mentoring of a coach to restore the hope of living their ideal family life.  “Parents to be” consult with a parenting coach to align themselves with their parenting styles.

Parents who:

  • have trouble getting their children to sleep at night
  • feel frazzled, competitive, guilty or judged
  • are sandwiched between generations
  • have trouble making a decision about their child’s school/care
  • or have a general dissatisfaction with parenting

would all benefit from using a parenting coach.

The Roles in Coaching

In order for our coaching relationship to be successful, we need to work on a collaborative basis.  I am not a counselor, consultant or therapist.  I am a trained coach using communication skills to facilitate you in reaching your goals.  We both have active roles in our endeavor.

Your Role

Prior to each session you will complete and email a session prep questionnaire.  The most important part of the questionnaire is to make a note of your goals.  What is it that you would like to take away from our time together?

You will need to arrive to the session on time and ready to participate.

You will need be responsive during our time together.   Let me know what works, as well as what does not.

My Role

I will give you undivided attention and listen closely in our conversation.  Using my coaching skills I will be on the look out for intuitive thought and I will bring it to your attention.  If I’m not on target let me know, I’m not tied to being right.

Most of the words I speak will be in the form of a question.  At the end of the session I will invite you to list at least one measurable action toward your goal.  I’ll expect you to stretch yourself and invite you to deepen the work that we’ve done by journal.  You can accept, negotiate, or decline my invitation.

I’m available

Between sessions, you may contact me via email to ask questions or brag about your progress.  I will answer your email within 24 hours.  If it seems like it would be better to discuss it during a session, I’ll let you know.

Ways You Can Get More From Your Coaching Experience

Make our time together a priority.

Do your best to have a specific goal in mind.

Follow through with your measurable actions.

Be open to new approaches and be ready to experiment.

Be willing to change your beliefs and patterns if they no longer serve you.

Budget for this investment and make your payments on time.

Fees

You can choose to pay for each session as you go or get a discount for pre-paying for sessions.

Group sessions are also offered for a smaller budget.
